Roy Barberi
Guitar and Lead Vocals
Roy played in a variety of bands in his early twenties and thirties. At age 34, then married with three kids, Roy had an opportunity to record an album with his band The Quickening, but he chose not to because he wanted to be with his family and knew what a toll life on tour would take. Roy did not start playing again until the last few years when the late Steve Webelow, Expression City’s audio engineer, encouraged him. Roy has always loved classic rock and 80s rock music. “Rock is about a feel and about experiencing the music together with the crowd,” he says. “I know that we’re the entertainment, but we’re also a part of the audience because we experience the music on stage with the crowd.

Rob eventually left the road to start a family. “Now that my kids are older, I can stretch out a little bit more,” he says. “This has been a really good regular gig to come in and just play good music with good friends — you can’t beat it.”
First concert:

Mark Polack
Bassist
Mark started out playing hardcore jazz, then moved to Latin music — but he found that playing only one style or genre wasn’t for him. “It’s all music,” he says. “There shouldn’t be borders stopping you from doing this or that.” In addition to playing bass, Mark works as a freelance mixer, programmer, and track engineer. He has worked with a wide range of artists, including Tom Petersson (Cheap Trick), Paul Carrack (Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics), John Oates (Hall & Oates), The Memphis Boys, Waylon Jennings, Steve Cropper, Anders Osborne, Jewel, Tommy Sims, Lauryn Hill, and more. His work with Matt Kearney included opening up shows for Pink, Train, and Brandi Carlile.

He now owns his own business, Custom Seas, which takes the pressure off the gigs that he agrees to do and enables him to have a good balance between work and family life.
